(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). A year and a half after launching her namesake lingerie brand, Andrea Billard feels ready for the North American market. “We are currently looking to break into [the U.S. and Canadian] markets over the next 12 months,” Billard, creative director of Andrea Billard, said.
The British company—which produces branded lingerie that is equal parts classic, luxurious, trendy and structured—is continuing on this path with its latest collections, named Diabla and Angelis, both offering sizes 30 through 38, A through D, and XS through XL. Wholesale prices run from £14 to £42.50, equivalent to approximately $21 to $66 at the current exchange rate. Each collection encompasses eight pieces, including plunge bras; multi-way bustiers; balcony bras with strapless options; thongs; suspenders; boyshorts with detachable suspenders; and sheer bodysuits.
Billard described Diabla as “dark, mysterious, daring and sensuous,” with a focus on body-fitting shapes and unique details in satin, lace and mesh. In contrast, Angelis offers “luxurious” styles in satin and mesh in cleavage-boosting, flattering styles.
But despite her focus on sensuality, Billard emphasized that her focus is on women. “80 percent of my collections are sold to women. It’s never been about selling lingerie for the benefit and pleasure of men. It’s a brand created by a woman for other women and it’s the woman’s pleasure that is paramount,” she said.
