(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). Innocent Angel is on a mission: to branch into the specialty boutique and department store markets. With these goals in mind, the California-based producer of 100 percent cotton intimates in sizes S through XL is working with Dianne Slemons, a sales representative who formally worked with Cuddl Duds. Wholesale prices run from $5.50 for a G-string to $33.50 for long johns.
According to Jannie Whitt, president of JW International, the company that produces Innocent Angel, Slemons has sparked interest in the line from her contacts at Stein Mart, Belk and other department stores. “Our next step is specialty stores,” Whitt remarked. “We’ve been doing a lot of research, and have found a lot of stores that would do well with our products.”
Those products, Whitt reported, are not your typical cotton sleepwear and lingerie. “Sexy, pure cotton is our concept,” she explained. “On the market, it seems that everyone is making the same styles and using synthetics, which are not healthy fabrics in the same way that pure cotton is.
“At the same time, customers shouldn’t be in stuck in whites and naturals, or boring styles, because they are wearing cotton. I use a lot of color, and offer creative designs. We have always been able to capture the 16 to 80-year-old woman because we have something in our collections to fit every need.”
Currently, the Innocent Angel line encompasses approximately 70 styles divided into eight collections. Each collection has a distinct concept and name to match, consisting of Beautiful; Angel; Heart & Cupid; Sporty; Madeline; Simply Sweet; Sleeping Beauty; and Crinkle. The company also offers skin care products under its Body Essentials line.
In upcoming developments, Whitt plans to take her line in a more sporty direction with the goal of producing casual innerwear that crosses into sportswear and appeals to a variety of ages. She also plans to add plus sizes.
