(Filed Under wholesale Sleepwear News). Masako Shirokawa saw a discrepancy between the understated look her peers sported during the day, and the frilly sleepwear she saw in stores. So at the CurveNY show in August 2010, she introduced Ombrato, her silk sleepwear concept built around a streamlined aesthetic.
“There is a lot of playful and sexy sleepwear out there, but there isn’t much that is elegant and uncluttered,” she remarked. “We take classic, timeless styles and add modern twists for an elegant and feminine, yet simple, look.”
Ombrato’s wholesale prices run from $16 for an eye mask to $70 for a chemise. Styles are available in sizes XS through XL, and also include camisoles and boxer shorts in shades of black; navy; ivory; champagne; and a pinkish-purple hue called Sugar Plum. The line is produced and manufactured in New York City.
Shirokawa plans to broaden her offerings for fall/winter 2011 by offering more camisoles, longer pieces and loungepants. She sees her product as fitting in well at high-end lingerie and apparel boutiques, as well as at department stores.
