Selecta Goes Out of Business

(Filed Under Fashion News). Selecta Corp, LLC, the long-time licensee of Dickies performance underwear, medical uniforms and chef and hospitality uniforms, has gone out of business. A recorded voicemail at the company’s corporate office states: “As of June 15, 2010, we are sad to report that we are no longer in business.”

Dickies is in the process of signing up new licensees to produce Selecta’s former product categories. Matt Tedesco, president of Exquisite Apparel, reported that the company has the license to produce Dickies branded men’s and women’s base layer and thermal underwear.

Industry experts estimated that Selecta’s assets totaled more than $40 million, with some speculating that they were up to $60 million. The company was based in Forth Worth, Tex.
