(Filed Under Fashion News). Charming Shoppes, Inc., parent brand of Cacique (the plus size lingerie brand), Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherine's, has appointed MaryEllen Mcdowell as its newest president of Charming outlets effective immediately.

"MaryEllen is a seasoned merchandising leader and we are very pleased to announce her promotion and appointment ," said Joseph M. Baron, EVP and COO of Charming Shoppes, Inc. "We look forward to incorporating her vision and expertise into our outlets division, and view her appointment as an opportunity to more closely align our Lane Bryant and Lane Bryant outlet brands."

Mcdowell was promoted from her position as the vice president and divisional merchandise manager for plus sportswear, dresses and swimwear for the company's Fashion Bug Brand. She succeeds Jeffrey A. Elliot (who has left the company) and will report to Baron.
