Merry Modes Goes Active

(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). In its most dramatic departure from bridal intimates yet, Merry Modes has entered the activewear market. The intimate apparel manufacturer—which has entered several new categories within recent months, including shapewear and mainstream lingerie—has introduced its first sports bra (style 2000), which fits up to a size 42DD and wholesales for $20. Coined the Soft Support Sports Bra, the style includes a matching boyshort and brief. It is available in white.

Mary Grace Dell’Aquila, manager of Merry Modes, said she decided to make a sports bra based on her own needs. “I try to carry things I need and have not been able to find in stores, because if I am looking for it, other women are certainly looking for it as well,” she explained. “[The Soft Support Sports bra] has wide comfort straps that don’t dig into your shoulders, wire free support, and an anti roll-up band that keeps the bra from rolling up under your breasts. It’s so comfortable that you can even wear it to sleep.”

In other news, the company has updated its standard lace longline bra (style 8900) with a rosebud lace pattern, and has added a shade of bone to the style, which it also offers in white. Style 8900 wholesales for $31 and runs up to a size 48F. It comes with two detachable garters.

According to Mary Grace Dell’Aquila, manager of Merry Modes, the bra now boasts a contemporary look. “Our motivation in updating the style was the make it sexier and more modern,” she said. “The previous style served its purpose, but we had used that particular lace pattern for such a long time. This one looks hand embroidered, sexy and contemporary. The bone color is also very unusual; you can never find it in the bridal or lingerie shops.”

In other new items, the company has introduced a convertible bra, coined the Sideways Convertible (style 5000), which runs up to a 38D and is available in shades of caramel and black. It features underwire, double molded cups anad a deep plunge.

Dell’Aquila said about the convertible style: “It is great for those deep plunge and cut-out dresses, since there are five different ways you can criss-cross the bra straps.”

Merry Modes manufacturers bridal and special occasion intimates, as well as mainstream lingerie, activewear, shapewear and accessories.
