Lululemon Athletica, in collaboration with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), is hosting a celebration featuring FIT student designs this Tuesday, April 20, at its store in Soho, New York City. The night’s festivities—which begin at 8pm—will include a runway show of designs by eight FIT fashion students, which the company selected as finalists in its Urban Yogini competition.
This marks the second consecutive year that lululemon has hosted this competition. The 2010 finalists are Corey Apploff; SoHee Bae; Amy Bittner; Eri Fuchigami; Keun Kwon; Rachel Marcus; Amelia Tkach; and Qing Zhu.
Immediately following the runway show, model and TV host Veronica Webb will announce the competition’s winner, who will receive a $2,500 cash prize, plus a three-day trip to lululemon’s Vancouver headquarters to work with its designers and production team. The winning design will also be sold at lululemon stores.
