(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Foot Traffic is launching an upgraded version of their combed cotton hosiery line, which they will debut at this February's New York fashion week.
Company president Charles Barnard expects that the new items will be ready for retailers to purchase at the end of January 2009. The new styles will run in a variety of two-paneled color ways, with one color up to the knee, and second color up to the waist. They will run at the nine-dollar wholesale price, at which the current one-color cotton line is sold. "We try to hold the tights at nine dollars because it allows retailers to sell them for under $20," Barnard said.
Currently, the spun cotton/spandex items come in 11 shades including black, navy, brown, mocha, denim, graphite, and light gray. Styles are tights, and spandex, knee length, and stirrup leggings. According to Barnard, the company is expanding the cotton collection because it has been exceptionally successful for a new line.
"I attribute a lot of our success this year to the launch of our spun cotton line," Barnard said, "One of the key things about the special combination of spun cotton and spandex is that it eliminates the need for a seat panel, so it is invisible under a skirt. It's also very comfortable; to quote a customer of mine, 'like butter'."
