(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Shan, a Canada-based couture specialist, has announced the launch of its "glamorous, audacious and seductive" 2009 collections.
Intended to target the "glamorous, elegant, refined and style-conscious woman who is mindful of her appearance," the six collections, which are unique to one another, but still coincide in themes, are named after women that inspired Chantal Levesque, the company's founder and designer, due to their glamour and star quality; they are: Scarlet, Paris, Monica, Marion, Angelina and Stella.
The Scarlet theme is inspired by architecture and metal with flamboyant ornamental detailing featured on the suit. In fact, the jewels that embellish the garment are hand-dipped colored or silver jewels that reinforce the luxurious allure of the prints. It has two distinctive characteristics: knots have been used for a sexy look, and adjustable cords help to create the perfect fit. This collection is available beginning in December 2008.
The Paris theme is characterized by its retro style and its ultra-light metallic-colored fabrics, including gold, silver and titanium. It features a gathered detailing as well a closure placed on the front of the suit, giving it a feminine look. This collection is also available beginning December 2008.
The Monica theme is synonymous with seductive elegance with inspiration coming from a monochromatic painting of an English garden. The suit features a red or violet background accented with splashes of golden yellow reminiscent of buttercups. This collection will begin shipping in February 2009.
The Marion collection has a structured form and it features dynamic, luminescent shades of white, coral, violet and black with colored or silver jewels. This collection will also begin shipping in February 2009.
The inspiration for the Angelina theme is drawn from the impressionist wave and from Michelangelo's angels. It is offered in four solid colors: coral, violet, titanium and black. This collection will be available as of February 2009.
Lastly, the Stella acts as both beachwear and ready-to-wear featuring shades of white, titanium and black, which coordinates with all the bathing suit styles from each collection. Dresses for all occasions, tunics, pants and knee-length leggings are some other items that Shan will offer in 2009. Portions of this collection have been available since December 2008, with the rest shipping in February 2009.
