Curve Projects Increased Attendance

(Filed Under Fashion News). CurvExpo is predicting that attendance at its upcoming shows in Las Vegas (February 15th through 17th) and New York City (February 21st through 23rd) will rise an average of 12 percent from its August 2009 events, with 250 brands exhibiting at each. According to the company, in August both shows saw an increase in attendance of over 10 percent.

The company reported that it expects these rises in attendance due to brands traveling less frequently to showcase their new collections, making the Curve shows “more than ever a Mecca where stores can efficiently samples all of the most cutting edge fashion in intimate apparel, sleepwear and swimwear all in one place.” Another factor, the company said, is that many stores have ended up with low inventories during the recent holiday season due to their conservative buying, and; “[are] thinking ahead for 2010/2011.”

Brands planning on showing at both shows include Calvin Klein; Elle Macpherson; Diesel; Chantelle; Wacoal; Le Mystere; Eveden; Simone Perele; Hanro; Grenier; Spanx; Betsey Johnson; Cosabella; Hanky Panky; and Felina, among others.

At the Las Vegas event, organizers will hold a seminar centered around brands in the maternity market, as well as a seminar on sales tactics. A key event at the New York show is the annual lingerie fashion show featuring fall and winter 2010 collections, which will take place on February 22nd.
