(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Sassybax isn't letting the poor economy stop them from investing in marketing, according to president and founder Amanda Horan Kennedy.
"We haven't experienced much of a slow-down, because we are still a relatively young company," Kennedy said, "but we are going forward in a big way with PR to get our name out there, and we have continued with our celebrity marketing campaign. When the economy recovers, I believe that the companies that continued to market will come out stronger."
Kennedy said that the Slimming Slip, which came out in March 2008, and the Peekaboo Torso Trim have been their most popular items this year. The Slimming Slip is patent-pending and was featured in the November 2008 issues of People Magazine and Shape Magazine. It runs at a retail price of $78, comes in sizes S-2X in shades of black and nude, and fits approximate cup sizes A-DD. It features a built-in bra and maximum compression for the tummy, medium compression for hips, and minimal compression for the tush "for easy walking."
Additionally, the Peekaboo Torso Trim "is flying off the shelves because it is a great laying piece as well as a fab tank top." It runs at a retail price of $68 in sizes S-XL and in shades of white, nude, and black, and fits approximate cup sizes A-DD. As with the Slimming Slip, it has a built-in bra and maximum tummy compression, medium hip compression, and minimal tush compression.
"Once they try it on, people love the Torso Trim, because it smoothes the lines and keeps their stomachs in," the owner of the Be Chic Boutique in Benicia, California, Claudia Mahrt said, "I am doing very well with that product. People are coming from all over to get it."
She continued, "Although I have probably sold more of the Torso Trim, the Slimming Slip is really good for tall people because it hits where they want it to hit."
