(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Bebe stores has announced it will begin carrying a new lingerie line designed by Robin Antin, the creator, choreographer and music video director of musical group the Pussycat Dolls.
The new line, entitled "Pussycat Dolls...Shhh by Robin Antin" will be sold at 55 Bebe stores, online at bebe.com, as well as at Fred Segal in Los Angeles and at La Sensa, a lingerie chain in Canada and the U.K. According to Bebe executives, the new products will be available in stores starting at the end of the first week of December. The collection is being manufactured by White Laundry, a Los Angeles-based company.
"I designed this line specifically for women to feel empowered, strong, feminine, sexy and a little naughty if they're feeling it," said Antin. "I really went back to our roots, to our costumes from our original shows."
"I was inspired by so many different genres of music and fashion and film, and that's what lingerie is all about," she said. Pin-up girls also served as inspiration for Antin. "The words for me on this collection are flirtatious, fashion and fun," she said. "It's so comfortable and it doesn't bulk up under your clothes. The fabrics lay beautifully on a woman's skin."
According to Greg Scott, Bebe's chief executive officer, "The Pussycat Dolls are known globally for their bold lyrics and chic style that personifies a sexy, self-assured and independent spirit. With the introduction of Pussycat Dolls...Shhh, Robin Antin has created a lingerie collection that is unique and totally in sync with what Bebe is all about, capturing a feminine and sensual mystique that is also a little edgy."
The collection was shown at the Mercedes-Benz L.A. Fashion Week in March 2008. Some of the items in the collection are camis, balconette bras, corsets and thongs. The designs incorporate sailor stripes, leopard prints and graffiti. The garments feature bold colors such as bright pink, blue and yellow, as well as more flirty and feminine colors such as cream and light pink. The items will retail from $22 to $98.
